General Motors launched the LPG version of popular car Chevrolet Spark in Mumbai. The car is GM India’s first liquefied natural gas car in India. It was built at the Talegaon plant in Maharashtra.

The car is obviously eco-friendly on the basis of less emission. The running cost is low and the intrinsic features of a well-designed hatchback have retained.

Karl Slym, President and Managing Director of General Motors India, said that the growth for Chevrolet has been good in India. 32,000 Spark cars were sold last year. GM has stepped into alternative fuels. The car uses a modern technology. It is based on ‘direct injection into the cylinder’ principle that can give people a real comfortable ride.

The LPG kit, which is factory-fitted, gives a mileage of around 350 km for full cylinder. GM India has already announced that it is insulated from the bankruptcy filed by the parent company in the US and the Indian company would continue to operate in full swing. GM India would come up with more launches, including Chevrolet Cruz, by the end of this year.

The LPG version of Chevrolet Spark is priced at Rs 3,52,00.
