Indian shuttler Chetan Anand lost the men’s singles final of Dutch Open badminton in Amsterdam on October 19, 2008. He was defeated by Andre Tedjono of Indonesia by 15-21, 21-11, 19-21. The Indian shuttler played the match with all his efforts but could not resist the Indonesian champion. Before the start of Dutch Open, Chetan was in peak form as he has won the Bitburger and Czech International tournaments.
The recipient of prestigious Arjuna award, Chetan Anand is believed to be one of best badminton players of India. Sixth seeded Anand is the perfect successor of another champion Indian shuttler, Pulela Gopichand. He won the Spanish Open in Madrid, Spain and also came out victorious in Nepal Open in June 2008. In January 2007, he was the National Badminton Champion for the second time.
