A Chennai-based entertainment company Pyramid Saimira Theatre Ltd in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture in China has set up a theatre there. This theatre, located in Huainan, was inaugurated on September 17, 2008 and has been named the Huainan Pyramid Longzhe Theatre Entertainment Tower.

Another collaborator in this deal includes China's Longzhe Group that is involved in diverse businesses aimed towards the nation's development. The project is supported by The China Society of Music Research Board (CSMRB). The chairman and MD of Pyramid Saimira, PS Saminathan informed that it is their very first tie-up with China.

'There is no theatre chain in China as the media and entertainment sector is very controlled there. But they have given us the licence to create an exhibition and distribution structure there,' said PS Saminathan. It was reported that the future plan includes investing Rs 1.5 billion on this theatre project for its further expansion.
