To mark the inauguration of the first international stadium, Chattisgarh has invited star cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni to participate in a match to be played on the same ground in the second week of September, 2008. The Chattisgarh government has also planned to host a T20 match on the newly prepared stadium on September 11, 2008, informed officials of sports department. Reports are that former test player Rajesh Chauhan is assisting to make the event memorable.
 
An elated sports department official said that Chattisgarh's first ever international stadium is all set to venue international events. The stadium has the capacity of accommodating about 60,000 people. The newly built stadium is located at Prasada village, 20 kms from Raipur. The construction work of the new stadium is managed by Hyderabad – based Nagarajuna Construction Company which claims to have completed all the major works including pavilion, electronic score board, media centre, commentary box and six huge stands.
