Charles Sobhraj, has threatened to file a defamation case against Farrukh Dhondy, the author of the novel “The Bikini Murders”. Sobharaj alleged that the novel, inspired by his life, has tarnished his image and formidable reputation. The novel, published by Harper Collins was released in India on Friday (November 14). These days Shobhraj is spending days in Kathmandu's Central Jail.
Sobhraj’s lawyer in Paris and London would reportedly go through the book and prepare a strong case against Dhondy and the publisher. In the past, Sobhraj successfully fought several publishers and film companies eager to cash in on his formidable reputation. Sobhraj was arrested in September 2003 in Kathmandu on charges for murder of US citizen Connie Jo Bronzich and Canadian Laurent Ormond Carriere in 1975.
