The IIFA has brought extra laurel for Chak De! India. After winning the heart of everyone, the film has swept many awards at IIFA, Bangkok.

In another winning campaign Chak De! India has won the best film award at IIFA function held in Bangkok. The film, based on a former captain of the Indian Hockey team, who left the game after being falsely implicated for losing the game against Pakistan in finals. The film gives true spirit of Indianism. The film’s theme is canvassed against religious bigotry. Later on, the same captain leads India’s women Hockey team to world cup victory and shows that he was not wrong and was falsely implicated.
 
Film producer Yash Chopra accepted the award on Shah Rukh’s behalf as latter was not present at the gala event.  Shimit Amin won ‘the best director’ award for the same film. Jaideep Sahni won the award of best storywriter for Chak De! India. The film was categorized as ‘best cinematography.’ Kareena Kapoor was judged best actress for her role in ‘Jab We Met.’ Along with best music director for ‘Guru,’ A R Rehman was honoured for doing extraordinary job in international music industry.
 
Shreya Ghoshal won the honours for the best playback singer (female) for “Barso re” from Mani Ratnam’s “Guru. Shaan bagged the best playback singer (male) award for ‘Jab se tere naina’ from ‘Saawariya.’
