Ahead of the Navratra festival in Katra, the base camp of holy cave shrine of Vaishnodevi will be provided tight security to avoid any type of terrorist attack. As the part of the plan, the police have decided to install close circuit television cameras (CCTVs). The cameras would also be placed at all the important spots of the town. The installation of such cameras would help the police department to negate any kind of evil intentions from the militants. Looking at the on-going trends of terrorist attack in major cities of the country, the use of such cameras would definitely assist the cops to handle the security situation in the valley.
After reviewing the security situation, the Inspector General of Police, Jammu zone, K Rajendra said that the administration has decided to place number of CCTVs in all the vital points of the town to restrict any kind of evil design by the militants. The IG has also asked the hotel owners of the town to put CCTVs in their hotels and lodges as it would help to trace out suspected person. Rajendra has also discussed about other necessary steps for the smooth celebration of Navratra festival. He also appreciated the role of police department in combating terrorism in the valley.
