The reluctance of men for adopting the healthy lifestyle can increase the threat of developing cancer. Cancers affect people belonging to both sexes. But studies have proved that men are at a higher risk of developing cancer when compared to women. Chances that a man develops cancer are about 60% higher when compared to a woman. Out of this, about 70% of the men can have cancer as the reason for their death. This news was confirmed by the Cancer Research, UK.
Even though the center has not proved to have any biological reason for this condition, it is believed that women tend to have lesser chances because they adopt healthier lifestyle when compared to me. Experts have quoted that more awareness about this must be provided to men.
The experts believe that prevention of half of the cancers is possible if proper modifications can be made to the daily lifestyle. The data for the latest report were collected from the facts based on the cancers which were taken from the years 2006 and 2007. Women have 40% lesser chance to die from cancer when compared to men.
The experts also claim that excluding cancers which are gender specific like breast cancer and lung cancer (which is found in men due to higher rate of smoking), the difference which exist between men and women is very high. The report published by the research center clearly specifies the need of conscious effort to be made by the public for preventing cancer.
