Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who reached Mumbai on Sunday night, is all set to kick off his official work in New Delhi today. External Affairs Minister S M Krishna is expected to call on the Canadian premier, while the latter is in Hotel Oberoi at 10 am today.
After the meeting with Krishna, Harper would hold discussions with Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan.
Haper will call on the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L.K. Advani in the afternoon, after which he would be laying a wreath at Rajghat.
He is expected to call on Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari at his residence, after which he is slated to meet the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi around 4.20 pm. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would be holding talks with the visiting Canadian dignitary at Hyderabad House, after which the agreements are expected to be signed.
Both the Prime Ministers would also be calling on a joint press conference.
Haper would pay a visit to the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple located in East Delhi before leaving to Amritsar. He would depart for Ottawa on Wednesday night.
