Come October and the Indian market will see the launch of five models of electric scooters from the BSA Motors camp. South India is where the company is initially wants the launch to happen and so its media campaign shoots off the south of the Vindhyas in November.

BSA GM KB Srinivasan aims to open up around 40 dealerships in south India by November, plus 10 more in other parts of the country. If all goes as planned then BSA will have around 70 dealerships in the south by March next year. All segments - 14 to 21 year olds, boys, girls, housewives and so on - are the target customers of BSA.

The company states that for three of its 250 watts electric Scooters (eScooters) the driver need not require a license. The 500 and 800 watts eScooters, on the other hand, can be driven by people who are of 15 years of age and beyond with a licence. The BSA presently has a capacity to produce 100 eScooters per day and this capacity will more than double in the coming six months.
