A British team has planned to build up a speed car called Bloodhound SSC which is likely to gather a speed of 1000 mph in 20 seconds. Andy Green and his team mate Richard Noble have decided to implant a jet engine and a rocket booster in Bloodhound SSC to break the world record of 763 mph. The world record of highest speed was also made by this British team in 1997.

The super speed car Bloodhound SSC requires an investment of 12 million pound to go out for the test drive. The car is named after the British supersonic air defence missiles of the cold war era. V-12 racing engine of the car will pump more than 1,000 kg of hydrogen peroxide into the rocket booster. The fuel will enable the car to reach a speed of 1050 mph which is faster than a bullet fired from a Magnum .357 revolver.

Talking to media the Royal Air Force fighter pilot and mathematician Andy Green said that he is very optimistic to make a new world record in terms of best land speed. The success of the project will bring revolution in car engineering, he added. The super car is likely to be built within a year. During the test drive, air brakes and parachutes will be used to halt the car.
