The British government has made the migration process of retired Gurkha soldiers from Nepal to Britain easier by opening the Gurkha Settlement Office (GSO) in Nepal on Monday.
This GSO will extend a helping hand to the British Gurkha ex-servicemen who wish to spend the rest of their life in Britain by making vital information required for the migration process available. The GSO will also provide answers to queries related to the way of living in Britain. GSO will also be providing arrangements required to settle down once they reach Britain.
Inaugurated in the premises of the British Gurkhas Nepal camp in Man Bhawan, Jawalakhel, the GSO will also provide guidance on the visa application process free of charge.
Major (retired) Bhim Bahadur Gurung, who chairs the Regimental Associations Nepal, mentioned that, "It means that ex-Gurkhas and their families can get the advice and support they need, at no cost, and make important and informed decisions about their future."
