The strike bowlers Brett Lee and Mitchell Johnson may not play for the second One-day international against India on Wednesday.
All-rounder James Hopes has already been ruled out of the match after he strained his hamstring during the first match in Vadodara on Sunday. Mitchell Johnson also had to leave the field for a while during the match after twisting his ankle and Lee has a sore elbow.
The team physiotherapist Kevin Sims said, “Hopes, Lee and Johnson all underwent scans. James has suffered a minor strain on his hamstring. He will be unavailable for the second ODI but he is expected to be available for the latter part of this series.”
"Brett Lee also has a mild right elbow strain and will be assessed prior to the next game. Mitchell has also suffered an inversion strain of his left ankle. Both the players will receive treatment it will depend on how they respond to treatment before a decision is taken on their availability for the match," he added.
The Australian cricket team has been hit hard with injuries as they have already lost key players Michael Clarke, Brad Haddin and Nathan Bracken to injuries at the start of the series.
