Angelina Jolie and boyfriend Brad Pitt have donated $ one million for the welfare of children affected by the Iraq war, declared their charitable foundation recently. It was revealed that $500,000 has been provided to three groups in Iraq by the Jolie-Pitt Foundation for providing aid to around 5,700 children. The same amount of money has also been forwarded to United States organization the Armed Services YMCA Operation Hero Programme also, as it looks after kids whose military parent has died in Iraq or if they have got separated from a parent stationed in the country.
The International Rescue Committee President, Mr George Rupp remarked that this donation from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation will be directed towards reinstating crucial education facilities for Iraqi kids whose life got upset because of the ongoing violence. Brad Pitt, 44 and Angelina Jolie, 33, are among the most high-profile philanthropists in Hollywood. At the time of announcing this donation, the actress stated that the educational programmes for war affected kids are the most ideal way to provide them a helping hand and to heal them.
