Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin will return back home due to the finger injury he incurred before the third Ashes Test at Edgbaston. This has posed a threat to his involvement in next month's Champions Trophy in South Africa.
Haddin did not play for the third Ashes test at Edgbaston as he fractured his ring finger of his left hand before the test. He was replaced by Graham Manou who made his debut.
Haddin recovered to play in the fourth and fifth Tests in a series. England won 2-1, with a 197-run victory in Sunday's Oval finale.
Alex Kountouris, Australia team physiotherapist said in a statement on Monday said, "It has now been decided Brad will return to Australia to allow him further recovery time and consultation with specialists to determine the best possible management of the injury.”
"His participation in any of the one-day and Twenty20 components of Australia's VB Tour of England and the ICC Champions Trophy will be decided after consultation with these specialists."
Australia has already included keeper Tim Paine in their one-day squad. They have not yet planned for a replacement player for Haddin.
Australia will play against Scotland in a one-day international in Edinburgh starting on Friday .Before this; the team will be playing two Twenty20s against England in Manchester on August 30 and September 1 ahead of a seven-match one-day series.
