The German manufacturer of luxury automobiles and motorcycles, BMW has declared that it plans to introduce its sports cars ‘X6’ in the Indian market soon. Mr Peter Kronschnabl, the BMW’s India President, said, ‘We should be launching X6 by middle of the next calendar year.’  

 

On the issue of launching the BMW’s MINI, Mr Peter Kronschnabl said, ‘We have decided that we would not launch the brand in 2009. But will review it for 2010.’ He added that the German company intended to sell about 2,800 cars this year, which is 40 per cent more than the target of 2000 cars it had set earlier.   

 

Stating they are the world’s largest premium car maker in the world, the BMW India President added that the company looks forward to maintaining the same mark in India as well. He said that the company would concentrate on aggressive marketing to pump up sales in India.
