A blast in a coal mine in northern China on Friday, June 13, 2008 has resulted in 27 miners losing their lives, apart seven others who were left trapped inside. In was on Friday morning that the explosion happened in the Anxin Coal Mining Co located in northern China’s Shanxi province. At that time, around 58 miners were working underground in the coal mine.
As per reports, 15 of the miners managed to escape after the occurrence of the blast, whereas nine others were rescued. As per the information provided by the state media, explosives set off below the shaft of the mine in Luliang in the coal-rich province, trapping 43 workers initially. It also informs that this Chinese coal mine’s certificates and licenses are authentic and that it also passed a safety inspection test conducted earlier this year.
