‘Black Swan’, Natalie Portman Receives Glowing Reviews At Venice International Film Festival
‘Black Swan’ which soon became the much talked about movie of the year opened at the 67th Venice International Film Festival on Wednesday night. Darren Aronofsky’s new offering has already attracted attention of the audience and the performance of all the actors in the movie has been highly appreciated by the critics but lead actress Natalie Portman ruled the Venice stage.
After watching the performance of Natalie in the new movie it is believed that she will rule Oscars this time.
The movie and Portman has attracted lot of positive reviews by the movie pundits as they say for the actress, she has ‘bravely ventured out of her comfort zone to play a character slowly losing sight of herself. It's a bravura performance.'
‘Black Swan’ deals with the story of Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis who are ballet dancers in a New York City production of Swan Lake. The production requires a ballerina to play both the innocent White Swan and the sensual Black Swan. Nina (Portman) fits for the White Swan, Lily (Kunis) fits for the Black Swan, and the two compete for the parts.
Meanwhile, the 29-year old actress admits that to prepare for the role she underwent gruelling physical sessions which included ballet dance and swimming.
'Six months ahead of the film, I went into sort of hyper-training, where five hours a day I was doing both ballet and cross-training, with swimming,' she told Britain's Press Association. 'It was very extreme.'
