Bollywood’s Bong beauty Bipasha Basu is quite upset after her role in Mani Ratnam’s forthcoming movie, Raavan, was shelved. She had been roped in for essaying the character of Abhishek’s wife Mandodari in the movie.
The role had been cancelled after she had her rehearsals, dress fitting and the allocation of 20 days of work in the movie.
While Bipasha has denied talking about the same, according to sources the role was suspended as it was upsetting the length of the film. Other reports claim that her role was cancelled as she was posing threat for Aishwarya Rai and Priya Mani.
According to the Mani’s spokesperson, he did not call off the role intentionally, but he also added that he has ensured that they will work together. To this, Bips responded, “I am sad... but it’s better than having my role chopped or totally edited... when lot of effort had gone to work out the role for this guest character.” Even though the shooting continues at Malshej Ghat, it is not sure whether someone else will be replacing her.
