Bollywood is using the reality shows happening on the small screens as a platform to reach out to the audiences. The trend was initiated by Amitabh Bachchan, following which Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan also entered the small screen. The next celebrity to join this trend is the Bong beauty Bipasha Basu, who has been roped in for hosting a reality show on small screen.
The show is produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s production house “Red Chillies Entertainment”.
The show has received inspiration from American-based reality show, “America's Next Top Model”. According to sources, the show is scheduled to hit the floors by next month and is titled as “Female Model Hunt”.
According to a source, "The show will have a number of women compete for the title of the Best Model to get a chance to start their career in the modelling industry. There will be minor changes in the pattern of the show as it is catering to the Indian audience and the show will be called the Female Model Hunt”.
"The show in America has gained a lot of popularity and has one of the highest TRPs. The American show host is former supermodel Tyra Banks. In India, one will see model-turned-actress Bipasha Basu as the show host”, adds the source.
The show will have 10-14 contestants in the beginning, who will be eliminated on a one-by-one basis by the panel of judges. The show is scheduled to have about 9 to 13 episodes.
According to the source, the panel of judges will be from the modeling industry, the selection process of which is in progress.
