Hottie Bipasha Basu is set to drop her bombshell avatar for her forthcoming venture ‘Aakrosh’ which deals with the serious subject of honour killings. The beauty who is more widely known for her glamorous roles in movies like ‘Dhoom 2’ and ‘Jism’ believes that mainstream actors should equally devote their talent in movies talking about the social issues and political crisis.
In Priyadarshan’s upcoming flick, Bipasha will be seen portraying the role of main protagonist, who helps in initiating the investigation of the honour killing which happened in the state of Haryana.
Detailing about the film, Bipasha said, "It`s a very nicely told story...within a thriller format. Honour killings are a burning topic. And we must not run from it.”
The actress further added, "We can`t be buffoons all the time just to make money. There are very few film-makers making these films that throw light on social evils and they need to be encouraged. Mainstream actors should definitely go out of their way to do such films.”
The film is produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and also stars Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal and Reema Sen in lead roles. The film which is made under the banner of Big Screen Entertainer is slated for release on 15 October 2010.
