The arm of Anil Ambani-promoted Adlabs Films Ltd, Big Cinemas will be conferred with the 'Exhibitor of the Year' award at this year's CineAsia-2008 convention in Macau, China. Big Cinemas will receive the coveted award at closing ceremony of the three-day event at Macau on December 11, 2008. The grand event is supposed to be attended by all the leading Asian cinema industry professionals, including cinema owners, film buyers and distributors.

 

Asian film stars will also be awarded at this grand event commencing on December 9. This is the first time that any Indian cinema chain is being conferred with the coveted award of CineAsia.  Big Cinemas has been instrumental in introducing IMAX facility in India. Recently it has launched 3D and 6D technology. Big Cinemas is the only cinema chain to screen films in all three formats. The cinema chain has announced to come up with the first megaplexes in India.

 

Commenting on receiving the CineAsia award, chief operating officer of Big Cinemas, Tushar Dhingra expressed his happiness and said that the recognition will boost the cinema chain to offer more quality services. He added that Big Cinemas will continue to offers big experiences to all the movie-goers.
