The key witness and perhaps the motive of the murder of Nitish Katara, Bharti Yadav has claimed that her brothers Vikas Yadav and cousin Vishal Yadav are innocent and have not murdered Nitish. Bharti flew down to India on Wednesday from London and for the first time has made a statement to the press regarding the murder case. In a telephonic interview with a leading newspaper of India, Bharti Yadav spoke her mind out.
The sister came in full defence of her brothers on the eve of her brothers being proven guilty in the murder case and their sentence being due for today. Bharti stated that she is devastated with what is happening to her brothers and wants to make it clear to anybody, who is interested in the fact that they are innocent. She also said that she came down to India as she wanted to be with her family during this crisis.
Bharti Yadav had flown to London immediately after the murder of Nitish, an IAS officer’s son and her alleged love interest in 2002. On her relationship with Nitish, Bharti had given a statement in the court that Nitish was just a friend and she had no plans to marry him. The key witness, in her recent statements, has also remarked that the way certain aspects of the case were ignored, it can be made out that they just don’t want to grind my father to the dust, but also to eliminate the entire family. She said that is why, even her name was dragged into the case and is now praying that nothing happens to her brothers, whom she loves from the core of her heart.
