Bharti Airtel is likely to introduce its direct-to-home (DTH) service in cars. The company's mobile DTH unit is all set to make its debut. Bharti Airtel’s DTH service was launched in October 2008. At present, the company is negotiating with several automobile companies for installing its mobile DTH units. The introduction of DTH service in car will help the subscribers to enjoy seamless transmission of satellite channels in the vehicle.
The DTH in cars will operate with the help of a special auto-tracking antenna, mounted on the roof of the vehicle. There will be a set top box inside the car, which will enable the viewers to catch the programmes of Airtel's DTH. While informing about the new mobile DTH unit, executive director of DTH Services of Bharti Airtel Ltd, N Arjun said that the new service will be installed in SUVs, trains and buses.
While explaining the reason for installing the DTH in SUVs and trains, N Arjun said that since the cost of installations is very high, the company is aiming at higher-end side of the market. The mobile DTH service is expected to get much attention due the general elections. The service is supposed to be very handy for the politicians and other interested parties in this crucial time of election.
