Stephen Richards had served time in the ederal prison for dealing with drugs. He says that the "Beyond Bars: Rejoining Society After Prison" is about the advises fro the inmates on how to stay out of prison once they are released from the jails.

It covers everything from family-reunion issues to managing finances.

Richard says money-management lessons are important for the ex-offenders as money is not a factor that comes into picture in their prison terms. He says people are not ready for things like paying bills and saving money.

Mary Kay Kollat is the re-entry director for the state Department of Corrections. She says she will explore getting the book on prison library shelves.
