The state-run engineering organization BEML announced its net profit of about Rs 172.02 crore in fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009, which is up by 45.16 per cent over the fourth quarter of previous year.
The company had made net profit worth Rs 118.5 crore in the same quarter of last year. The information related to the net profit was given by BEML to Bombay Stock Exchange.
The standalone total income has increased to Rs 1282.27 crore in the quarter which is under the review from Rs 1099.43 crore during same period last year.
For the year ended March 31, 2009, standalone net profit of the company has risen to Rs 268.84 crore from Rs 225.65 cr last year.
The standalone total income has leaped up to Rs 2,907.14 crore in the year under the review form Rs. 2, 634.43 cr during previous fiscal year.
For the year ended March 31, 2009, the net profit of BEML ascended to Rs 270.10 crcore from Rs 227 crore in previous year.
The board of directors of BEML have recommended the dividend of Rs 12 per share for 2008-09.
Shares of BEML closed on Friday at Rs 904.50, which is 0.85% up from the previous close on the BSE.
