Former South African opener and cricket pundit Barry Richards' eldest son Mark Richards has committed suicide. While confirming the news, Barry Richards stated that his wife Anne has been not been able to know the cause of the suicide. However, it is believed that Mark Richards was a drug addict and recently he was admitted to a rehabilitation center.
 
The former cricketer said that his family has experienced a huge shock and at the moment, it is not possible to discuss the incident further. Richards's close cricketing friend, Mike Procter condoled at the demise of the Mark Richards . Procter said that when heard the news he was shocked. Barry Richards was one of the finest batsmen produced by South Africa. Apart from being a talented cricketer, he is also one of the most admired cricket analysts. 

Barry Richards was born and raised in Durban but currently he stays in Perth, Australia. He played for South Africa in only four Tests in 1970. During that series against Australia, Barry scored 508 runs at an average of 72.57. Barry Richards was unable to show his cricketing talents because of the apartheid system in South Africa. He also played for Natal, Hampshire and Western Australia. Earlier this year, Barry Richards was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
