Leading financial service provider Barclays announced on September 19, 2008 to financially support this year's London Diwali festivities. The celebrations for Diwali will take place in London's Trafalgar square. The Diwali event which is organized by London Mayor and London Diwali Committee will be telecasted live.
According to sources, the forth-coming London Diwali celebrations will have lots of fun activities. The visitors of the event would be allowed to participate in 'garba', a particular Gujarati traditional dance. There will be a special dance program titled 'theme of Indian dance'. In this segment participants will present different Indian dance froms including Kathak, Oddissi, Bhatratnatyam and of course, Bhangra.
The major performers of the event will be Saraswati Academy of Indian Dance, Encee Academy of Performing Arts, Apsara, Mudralaya and Kala-the Arts. According to Deanna Oppenheimer, the chief executive of Barclays UK Retail Banking, it would a very nice opportunity for the company to sponsor such an important event like Diwali. The company promises to organize the event in a fantastic and grand manner.
