India Watch
Late in 2008, Switzerland will open a Consulate General office in the Silicon Valley of India, Bangalore, to reinforce its presence in India. The country already had a Consulate General office in Mumbai and the Bangalore office would be the second one in the country. Dominique Dreyer, Switzerland's Ambassador to India, declared that the Swiss Government is opening the Consulate General’s office in Bangalore as part of its efforts to strengthen the comprehensive relations with New Delhi.

He further said that Switzerland is one of the top 10 foreign investors in India and the Swiss Government would further like to toughen the economic and cultural relations with the country. Moreover, opening of second Consulate office in the Silicon Valley would help reinforce the mutual tie-ups between Switzerland and India.
