L.C. Gupta, secretary of the Badminton Association of India (BAI) passed away on Friday after prolonged illness. He was suffering from various physical complications.
Gupta, 79, is survived by three sons and a daughter. He held the post of BAI secretary since 1994. A former shuttler, Gupta had represented Rajasthan from 1956 to 1972 .He had also been a winner of the National Veteran Badminton title for three consecutive years.
BAI president V.K. Verma said: "It would leave a void which would be difficult to fill. He was an extremely experienced, hard working and committed official who served badminton for over four decades."
