Telegent and Brightstar have come together to offer a low-priced mobile phone that can deliver 2010 soccer World Cup live free of cost to the audience in America subcontinent. The step is being taken in an attempt to cash in on the craze of the next Footbal World cup in South Africa.
Brightstar’s Avvio 505 device and Telegent’s free-to-air analog mobile TV technology have been integrated to offer such an inexpensive way of taking the soccer experience.
The Avvio 505 device is expected to attract more soccer fans because of the personalized colours and flags of the participating countries.
“With the Avvio 505, we are delivering a model designed to appeal to sports fans in the Latin American and African markets. In these markets, consumers have a passion for soccer, and all eyes will be on the events unfolding real time this summer in South Africa. The combination of voice and TV in a low-cost handset is very compelling for consumers who want to follow the matches live, whether they are at work, home, or on the road,” commented, Jaime Narea, vice-president of Brightstar’s Idea to Consumer Division.

The Avvio 505 handset sports a 2.0 inch screen measuring 43X101X13.3mm in size and offers 240 minutes of nonstop talk time.Users can also send SMS and switch on FM radio here. Similarly, Telegent’s mobile TV receiver supply users with single button mobile logging on to live TV and radio service free.
Avivo 505 TV soccer phone is expected to be available from selected stores before the World Cup. However, the pricing and release date are under wraps.
