Aurobindo Pharma has declared that it has got the final permit from the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) to manufacture and market its Cefazolin injection. The Cefazolin injection is employed in the treatment as well as prevention of bacterial infections.
In its filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the Aurobindo Pharma mentioned that the US FDA has given its approval for 500 mg and 1 gram per vial of Cefazolin injection. The company further mentioned that its injection is a Sterile Cephalosporin product under the anti-infective segment and is a generic equivalent to Abraxis Pharmaceutical Products' reference listed drug Cefazolin.
It was only previous week that Aurobindo Pharma had bagged the US Food and Drug Administration approval for manufacturing and marketing Alendronate Sodium tablets in the
