German luxury automobile manufacturer Audi has unveiled its new A4 Sedan in India and its price begins from Rs 29 lakh onwards. This new car from Audi is expected to help the company achieve its total sales target of 1,000 cars this year. The portfolio of the German company now comprises five models - A6, A8, TT, Audi Q7 and the A4. With the launch of newer models and more dealerships, the Audi Company is looking to enhance its presence in the luxury car sector.
The company recently also signaled that it could introduce a new sports car R8 in India some time towards the end of this year. The new Audi A4 Sedan, however, has been launched with two engines - ‘2.0 TDI multitronic’ with a power-output range of 143 bhp and the ‘3.2 FSI tiptronic quattro’ with 265 bhp. Among these two models, the former will cost Rs 29 lakh whereas the other Rs 36 lakh. Initially, the German company plans to import the car.
It is towards the end of this year that the Audi Company will begin manufacturing the new A4 from its Aurangabad facility in Maharashtra. Though the company already has five dealerships in India, it will open five more within the next six months in Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kochi, Calcutta and Ludhiana to market its newly launched luxury car. Labeled as the the sportiest luxury sedan, the A4 has an overall length of 4.70 metres.
