Taiwanese computer giant ASUS launched its latest gaming laptop the G60 putting it on top of the niche segment of portable gaming.

Although it looks a lot like its predecessor, the G50, it is in effect more advanced. It has all the features of a powerful gaming desktop squeezed into a laptop: Most notable among them is the large 16-inch widescreen that provides with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

At the heart, it is powered by the Intel Core2 Quad processor. It features two HDDs giving a combined total of 1TB that can store up to more than 100 latest full-length games.  The laptop doesn’t lack in RAM either, it is empowered by 4GB DDR3 RAM.

Of course, no gaming console, laptop or desktop, is complete without a reliable and advanced graphics processor or graphics card. ASUS did not take any risks here and chose to incorporate the much vaunted Zotac GeForce GTX 260M with 1GB RAM. Connectivity options include HDMI (High Density Multimedia Interface), SATA, Firewire and four USB connections for LAN play and data transfer. It includes a Blu-ray drive, 2 megapixel webcam and speakers from Altec Lansing.

Another feature to help you find your way out of sticky-frame situations of hardware demanding games is the Turbo button. Pressing it will let you overclock the CPU speed but may damage your processor over long-periods of continuous usage.

It will hit the International market this September and will cost more than a lakh.
