ASUS has brought good news for Indian techno freaks. The company has unveiled world’s greenest, quietest and the most cost effective desktop PC, ASUS Eee Box on October 15, 2008. The company has launched its desktop PC in collaboration with Intel in Mumbai. Measuring only 1L in size, the new Eee Box is said to consume 90% less power than normal desktop PCs. According to Mr. Stanley Wu, Product Manager – Notebooks and Eee PC, ASUS (India), the revolutionary product from ASUS is likely to do good business in India because of its power efficiency and size.
The new sleek desktop is price at Rs. 16,490. The Eee Box can even be mounted on a VESA LCD displays for the ultimate space-saving solution. The desktop is made with eco-friendly material for lesser Co2 emission. The Eee Box incorporates IPTV which allows the user to enjoy thousands of programs, almost free. It also allows the user to personalize and watch lists of TV shows with ease.
The new Eee Box from ASUS is powered by Intel Atom N270 (1.6 GHz) processor. With 80 GB hard disk, the desktop computer has all the requisite facilities including WiFi, card reader etc. According to the general manager of Intel South Asia, Intel has put the smallest processor in Eee Box. It is small but yet powerful enough to enable a big internet experience on the desktop computer.
