Veteran singer, Asha Bhosle has been in the music industry for decades now, she has mastered every kind of singing, but now it seems the lady with the golden voice is all done with Bollywood, as she indicates about the selectivity of her songs.

 

The singer is the proud of the nation and has sung more than 12,000 songs till now over a period of six spanning decades.

 

Asha Bhosle adds, "I have been singing for so long. I will do playback only if something new and exciting comes my way.”

 

She mentions further, “Apart from my parents, I am thankful to the musicians who gave me work when I was a newcomer in the industry. Also I am grateful to my listeners who have kept Asha alive, she would have died otherwise.”

 

Asha is such a yesteryears singer, who has lived her talent like anything; she is the one who has made countless television appearances as judge on reality musical shows. The singer was seen on-screen several times performing all genres of music like pop, qawali, gazals and folk.

 

She also tells about her initial struggle days, when she was a new comer and there was just no one to support her.

 

She adds, “No one helped me. I would go begging for work. It was not easy as I had no godfather or someone to help me. A lonely person tends to make mistakes, it is always better to have someone to guide you. I had no one.”

 

She says that it was really hard to convince musicians to take her for singing, but gradually she became the golden voice of India, awarded with the highest music awards in the industry.
