The skin show is not a big task for British-Indian actress Aruna Shields, but she was cagey to take up the role of an emotionally devastated woman in the movie Mr. Singh & Mrs. Mehta.

Aruna Shields is the hot talk of the tinsel town now-a-days, as she has done some extra bold sequences in the movie Mr. Singh & Mrs. Mehta. But, it is quite surprising to find that, she was initially disinclined towards taking the role.

Aruna adds, “Pravesh (director) came to London and met me. We had a couple of more meetings. Initially, I was not very keen but he convinced me that I could do this role. As far as nudity is concerned I had no problem with that.”

Aruna had the pre assumption that she won’t be able to do justice to the role of an emotionally ruined married woman.

Aruna plays the character of Neera Mehta, a relationship columnist, who comes to know that her husband is cheating on her. She later finds comfort in Prashant Narayanan (Ashwin) and develops a relationship with him. Ashwin is the name of the character in the movie, who also finds that his wife is indulged in an extra marital affair.

The debutante director Pravesh Bhardwaj told that the role went to almost 60 actresses and all of them turned it down, finally taken by Aruna.

She also adds, “I have another release coming out in September then I plan to do more theatre in London. I am just keeping an open mind and going with the flow. It is my third trip to India and I am meeting people I want to work with.”
