International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has honoured Argentina and Jordan with Emmy Awards for the fist time.

Argentina and Jordan were conferred with International Emmy Awards for the first time. However, the king of the award night was Britain which bagged seven prizes. Argentina picked up the award in the TV Movie/Mini Series category for Television Por La Identidad while Jordan won in the Telenovela category for Al-Igtiyah (The Invasion). La Identidad deal with the story of mothers who disappeared during the military dictatorship. On the other hand, Jordan's Al-Igtiyah is a love story of Palestine.
 
The non-scripted entertainment award went to Netherlands for The Big Donor Show. David Suchet clinched the best actor award for his role of former media king Robert Maxwell in the biography series Maxwell while Britain's Lucy Cohu was named the best actress for her performance as Liz in the drama series Forgiven. Congratulating the winners, Academy President Bruce Paisner said that their hard works have helped the academy to accomplish it mission.
 
The International Emmy Founders' Award was given to Law and Order creator and executive producer Dick Wolf for his creative achievements and international success. The Emmy Awards given by International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognise those who have made an impact in television on a global level. The Academy has member broadcasters from nearly 70 countries and over 400 companies.
