Apple on Friday announced that the company would discontinue offering free Bumper cases for iPhone 4 owners by September 30. The company seems to have arrived at the decision as there were no more complaints regarding the reception issues.

"We now know that the iPhone 4 antenna attenuation issue is even smaller than we originally thought. A small percentage of iPhone 4 users need a case," the company’s website says.

However, Apple said that it would provide Bumper cases on request for its iPhone 4 having signal reception issues.

“We are also returning to our normal returns policy for all iPhone 4s sold after September 30. Users experiencing antenna issues should call AppleCare to request a free Bumper case,” the website adds.

Apple’s iPhone 4 was launched in June, which saw sales of millions of iPhone 4 models within just two-three days. But the model had severe signal reception issues which even led to dropping of calls. Apple, later, came up with a solution by providing free Bumper cases to all the iPhone 4 owners to overcome reception issues.
