Apple iPad’s second Asia-Pacific launch has been started on Friday. This has also marked long queues from the fans in Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand for this popular device.

Previously, Apple had launched the iPad in Japan and Australia as the first leg of its launch.

The enthusiasm was so high that people braved the odds to get the new iPad. Even, some of them waited hours to be the lucky owner of this device. Some customers have also ordered the set from abroad or bought them through unofficial local resellers.

A customer in Singapore, who was in queue to buy two units of the priciest model, said the purchase was a treat for herself and her daughter.

"My daughter said if you don't come, I'll skip school and come buy!," she told a media person.

The iPad price ranges from 728 Singapore dollars (530 US) to 1,228 dollars (894 US).

Similar was the situation in South Korea and Hong Kong where hundreds of fans were waiting for their turn.

"I tried to get the iPad in USA and Australia before but I couldn't get it, so that's the reason I came here to get it," a South Korean said.

The iPad was launched first in the United States on April 3.
