The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has started probing into Apple's refusal to allow Google Voice to be used on its iPhone.
Along with Apple, the FCC is also questioning AT&T, the partner to the iPhone in the US.
The FCC has dispatched letters to the organizations enquiring them on the reason for the rejection of the Google Voince application. Apple had mentioned during last week that it will not distribute Google software. According to the company, it appears to be that it does not want any competition on the apps front.
AT&T also does not want people to use applications like Google Voice. It wants its customers to pick up the telephone and pay AT&T for the privilege.
The FCC said in a statement that it considered its duty to promote competition in the wireless marketplace.
