Anushka Sharma Don’t Mind Getting Typecast
Bollywood’s sizzling hot Anushka Sharma is enjoying success in the glory of Band Baaja Baarat and says stereotype reports doesnot bother her. The actress who has given three back to back hits claims that she is not going to change her Punjabi girl image as it is working well in her favour.
“I am proud that my acting is so good that people actually confuse me for a Punjabi. I will not try to break an image that is working for me. I give myself credit to be able to get out of my comfort zone. I am not a Punjabi.”
She added, “I have lived in South India all my life and had a southern accent. I have changed my diction and have played these characters with such conviction that people think I am Punjabi.”
However, the actress also maintained that her role in her last three flicks were totally different. “In Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), I played Tani who was a very meek character, whereas in Badmaash Company, I played part of a smuggling gang.
“In Band Baaja Baarat (2010), I was seen as a vivacious, enterprising girl. You can be a Bengali living in four different parts of the world but each one is distinctly different.”
Meanwhile, the 22-year old actress is excited about her upcoming flick Patiala House.
Talking about her role in Nikhil Advani’s next, Sharma says, “Simran, who is the nosy neighbour, helps resolve the family’s issues. Before she enters the scene, things are very mundane and slow-paced. She stirs up the household, brings change, happiness and excitement by inspiring Akshay Kumar’s character to follow his dreams.”
All the best Anushka!!!!!!!!
