Anurag Kashyap has always been able to carve out a niche for himself through his offbeat movies. But, he says that none of his films are completely his and hold mixed feelings over the matter.

As a director Basu is known for ‘Black Friday’ (2004), which was a controversial and an award winning film. His other commendable creations are ‘No Smoking’ (2007), ‘Gulaal’ (2009) and Canadian film, ‘Water’ (2005).

As a screen writer he also won the best screenplay award for ‘Satya’ (1998). But, somehow he feels that none of his films are completely his own.

He adds, “Whatever I have made so far has never turned up exactly the way I wanted to. There have been other influences and hence I can’t call any of my films completely mine. And when Vikram (Vikramaditya Motwani) came up with the script for Udaan, I felt like helping him make a film which is completely his. Udaan has no contribution from me. It is completely his film. Anything good or bad is because of him."

Anurag is quite blunt and open while expressing his feelings in public and says, “I am just fighting to make films. And so far, I have been making them.”
