Anil Kapoor And Irrfan Khan To Be Honoured At Cairo International Film Festival

Bollywood stars Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan will be honoured at the ongoing 33rd Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) 2009.
According to the official website of the film festival, the actors will be honoured along with model-turned-actor Arfie Lamba, among the stars of the multiple Oscar-award winning movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ at the festival that began on Tuesday.
With India being the special guest of honour at the festival, about 25 Indian movies will be shown during the event that opened with Yash Raj Films' ‘New York’.
The movie, which was screened on Tuesday, is also competing in the 'In Competition' section of the festival that closes on November 20.
‘New York’ is directed by Kabir Khan and stars John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh in the lead apart from Irrfan Khan in a key role.
Screened at the Pusan International Film Festival, recently, ‘New York’ released in over 900 screens worldwide on June 26. It has a contemporary story-line of three young friends whose lives are upturned by post-9/11 discrimination.
The jury of the festival is being led by Malayalam filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Victor Okhai and Nour El Sherif.
Hollywood stars like Samuel L. Jackson, Lucy Liu and Tom Berenger will also be attending the festival.
