Tina Ambani, yesteryears Bollywood actress and Indian Industrialist and billionaire Anil Ambani’s wife is planning to auction art works from her private collection at global auction powerhouse, Christies in London. Tina Ambani is seeking to raise over 1,00,000 pounds (Rs 81 crore) for her Harmony art Foundation. Christies London also revealed that starting from Wednesday, May 07, 2008, the auction house will also exhibit 32 artworks from Tina and Anil Ambani’s private collection.
It is for the first time that the private art collection of Anil Ambani, known to be one of the richest man of the world will be put for public display. The art works will include masterpieces by MF Hussain, SH Raza and Tyeb Mehta. Tina Ambani, who is the founder and patron of Harmony Art Foundation, has offered twelve art works from the organization for auction by Christies. The proceeds from the auction would go towards future activities of the Harmony Art Foundation.
