Andy Murray aggravated his sore wrist in the Davis Cup relegation tie. This has left him doubtful for the rest of Britain's key weekend Davis Cup Euro zone relegation tie. He took the hosts into lead defeating Poland’s number 678 Michal Przysiezny by 6-4, 6-2, 6-4.
Murray is afraid of compromising for the rest of his season by playing on the wrist which flared at the US Open.
Murray said,"I don't want to sacrifice the lot to play in the tie and end up hurting myself so badly that I can't play for a few months. Every time I play on it, it's making it worse.”
"You never know how much damage you can do to yourself; you just hope it doesn't get so bad you can't play."
Murray had hoped that rest earlier this week would put him right, but was not comfortable during the Friday match. Britain stand level with Poland 1-1 heading into Saturday's doubles. Murray was supposed to have played this week. If he withdraws, Britain will likely field Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins.
Murray will head to London for treatment .He had hurt his right wrist two years ago and has already taken a three months break."If it takes four months to get better, it takes four months. If it takes a week, then it'll take a week," he said.
