Andy Murray advanced into the fourth round of US Open with his win over Taylor Dent of America. He defeated Dent in straight sets by 6-3, 6-2, and 6-2.

The second seeded Murray and third seed Nadal are in race with top seed Roger Federer, who is bidding for his sixth-straight title at Flushing Meadows and went earlier through into the final 16.

Murray on Sunday registered his third win against Dent. The 28-year-old Murray ranked 195 returned to the ATP last week in New Haven.

Murray won his 15th match in New York, where he had lost the final a year ago to Federer.

The Scot, who has claimed five titles in 2009, was the first man to win 50 matches this season, and stands 56-8 since January.

Nadal has already advanced into the fourth round defeating his Spanish compatriot Nicolas Almagro by 7-5, 6-4 and 6-4.
