Russia’s Synchronised Swimming partners Anastasia Davydova and Anastasia Ermakova wins gold medal on August 20, 2008 at the Beijing Olympics. The results at the Beijing Olympics were a replica of the Melbourne 2007 World Champions with the top eight teams finishing in the same fashion. Davydova and Ermakova, who won Duet and Team gold at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, were Beijing gold favorites right from the very start of the game.

The duo had scored a lead of 0.416 who came to a close second spot. Earning full score from all the five judges, for their wonderfully projected artistic elegance in water, they combined score stood at 99.251 at the end of the competition. While the Spanish duo Gemma Mengual and Andrea Fuentes took silver, Japan kept its record of never leaving an Olympic event without bagging a medal at the Synchronized Swimming. Synchronized Swimming continues at 3:00 p.m. (UTC/GMT+8)  on August 22 with the Team Event Technical Routine.
