Serbian tennis ace Ana Ivanovic managed to make her way into the third round of the Australian Open by winning a tough match against Alberta Brianti. Ivanovic won the match in straight sets 6-3 6-2. After the match, the fifth seeded Serbian player admitted that she needs to work on different things to sustain in the tournament. Earlier in her opener match, Ivanovic crushed 107th-ranked Julia Goerges.
 
While commenting on her victory over Brianti, Ana Ivanovic said that Brianti was a tough opponent. Ivanovic also stated that she has to raise the level of her performance to continue her campaign in women's singles event. According to her, the performances of the players will keep on improving as the tournament progress as one has to face tougher opponents at upper level.
 
During her match against Brianti, Ivanovic made an early lead and after Brianti dragged out the eighth game with eight deuces to hold serve, the Serbian player clinched the set on the next game. Brianti also took a medical attention for treatment of a back injury. Ana Ivanovic took 92 minutes to finish off the match. In the third round, Ana Ivanovic will face Russia's Alisa Kleybanova or France's Stephanie Cohen-Aloro.
