English singer, songwriter and winner of the prestigious Grammy awards, Amy Winehouse was cautioned and released on Saturday for assaulting a man on Wednesday (April 23) in North London. No charges were framed against her though she spent one night in police custody. The man had alleged that Winehouse assaulted him in the early hours of morning on Wednesday in North London and the singer was questioned at a central police station in Central London on Friday.
Meanwhile, Winehouse's spokesman said in a statement that Amy did accept that she had assaulted the man by slapping him with her bare hands and has accepted the caution. The statement also said that she has apologized for the incident. Amy also thanked the police for handling the matter in a professional way.
The statement also said that the singer is working on the theme song of the new James Bond movie and is looking forward to record a new music album. Winehouse's private life has also been in a state of turmoil . Her success has been overshadowed by the use of narcotics. Her husband is also facing charges of corrupting the course of justice. He has however denied the charges framed against him.
